Lots of kamikazee chipmunks

Got in a good ride on the bike path this morning. I started later than I intended, but still managed to get to Nelsonville and back in just under two hours. The bike path can get a touch boring at times, but it is a way to get miles in a predictable amount of time. In the mornings it is a very peaceful ride, though today I had to dodge quite a few chipmunks. Below are a few snapshots.

Today's mileage

Today’s ride was a far cry from Saturday. Temps in the low 50’s and the fact that I have Monday afternoons off made or some excellent riding conditions. The bike path was still frozen about one mile south of Eclipse Company town, but I expect another day or so should fix that. I rode from Peden out to the frozen section, then turned around and rode to Holzer, and finally back to Peden Stadium. All told is was a good ride of 17.75 miles and 78 minutes of ride time. It’s great to get two rides in the same week. With rain coming toward the end of the week, it might be a while before I can ride again. Nevertheless, it appears that Spring has finally arrived in Athens, Ohio.

Chris, Greg, and I went riding after work. We me up at Peden Stadium and rode the HockHocking Adena Bike Path all the way to Robin’s Crossing in Nelsonville and back. We averaged over 17 mph for the 29 mile ride. I haven’t been riding much this summer, so it was great to get a really good ride in. Video recorded with my Flip Mino and pieced together with FlipShare.
